The Alachua County Cattlemen’s Association, in cooperation with UF/IFAS Extension, sponsors a Commercial Heifer Pen Show and Sale. The purpose of the Show and Sale is to provide a real-world cattle project for youth that exposes exhibitors to commercial beef production. This includes purchase or raising, selection, development, breeding, exhibition and marketing of commercial beef heifers.
The inaugural event was held on September 18th and 19th of 2026 and a great success. There were 25 heifers sold.
The Tag in/Validation for the Second Annual Commercial Heifer Pen Show and Sale (to be held in September 2027) will be held on October 24, 2026. The Nomination Form and Breeders Certificate below must be submitted by October 16th, 2026.
